Pets and dog rules in OOB
Town Code Ch. 14 governs dogs on the beach. Off your property, dogs must be leashed or under voice and sight control at all times.
Beach hours
From May 15 to Labor Day, no dogs are allowed on the beach from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. From 5 p.m. to dusk, dogs must be on a leash, 12 feet maximum. At all other times, dogs must be leashed or under voice and sight control. Ocean Park is covered by the same rule. Keep dogs at least 100 feet from posted piping plover nesting areas. Fine: $100. Leash & cleanup
Off your property, dogs must be leashed or under voice and sight control at all times. Pick up after your dog; dog waste bag stations are at most beach access points.

Licensing
Maine state law: dogs 6+ months must be licensed annually with the Town Clerk. Free if spayed/neutered with proof; $11 otherwise (rates set by state).
Dog-friendly off-season
Outside restricted summer hours, dogs must still be leashed or under voice and sight control.
