FY2026 mil rate: 12.20. Applied to assessed values from the 2024 town-wide revaluation. Bills mailed in September; half due in October, half in April.

How to calculate

Assessed value × 12.20 / 1,000 = annual tax. Example: $700,000 assessed = $8,540/year. The 2024 revaluation reset assessed values to 100% of fair market value as of April 1, 2024.

Exemptions

Homestead exemption: $25,000 off assessed value for primary residences (apply by April 1). Veteran exemption: $6,000 ($50,000+ for 100% disabled). Blind: $4,000.

Where the money goes

~45% RSU 23 schools, ~35% municipal operations, ~12% capital + debt, ~8% county + overlay.

File an abatement application with the Assessor by 185 days from commitment. Independent appraisal recommended if challenging.
