One of OOB's quieter year-round residential beach pockets.
Where it sits
Grand Beach is at the northeast end of the seven-mile beach along East Grand Avenue (Route 9), between Surfside Beach and Pine Point Beach, at the Old Orchard Beach / Scarborough town line. Part of the Grand Beach area lies in Scarborough.
Character
Year-round residential. Quieter than downtown. Real neighbors, not just summer renters.
Access
Access is from the side streets off East Grand Avenue. Parking is limited and restricted; no-parking zones are enforced.
Best for
Quieter beach days and off-season beach walks.
Surf and conditions
Moderate. Bigger than Pine Point on south-wind days but generally smaller than Surfside.
