Mission

The Seagull Foundation exists to provide private community support for OOB's three public schools. The foundation closes the gap between the district budget and the things teachers, students, and programs need to keep growing.

What it funds

  • Student scholarships for graduating OOBHS Seniors.
  • Teacher classroom grants for materials, books, and projects.
  • Special programs across Jameson, Loranger, and OOBHS.
  • Equipment that falls outside the district capital plan.

How to apply for a grant or scholarship

Teachers apply for classroom grants on an annual cycle through the foundation page on rsu23.org. Scholarship applications for graduating OOBHS seniors open in the spring; the school counseling office maintains the timeline and reviews applications with the foundation.

Annual fundraising events

The foundation hosts annual fundraisers in OOB throughout the year. Event details are posted on the foundation page and shared through the schools' communication channels.

Partnership with local OOB businesses

Many local OOB businesses sponsor scholarships, fund grants, or contribute in-kind to events. Local sponsorship is a meaningful share of annual giving and a direct way for businesses to invest in the workforce that ultimately staffs them.

Contact and board

Current board members and contact information are listed on the Seagull Foundation page at rsu23.org. The foundation can also be reached through the RSU 23 central office.
