District structure and superintendent

RSU 23 serves Old Orchard Beach as a single-town regional school unit. The superintendent leads district administration and reports to the elected School Board. Current superintendent and central office staff are listed at rsu23.org.

Adult Education

Food and Nutrition Services

Food Services manages breakfast and lunch across all three schools following USDA guidelines. Free and reduced meal applications, menus, and online lunch payment are on rsu23.org.

Transportation

The transportation office manages bus routing for every OOB neighborhood. Routes and pickup times are confirmed at the start of each school year and adjusted as enrollment shifts.

School Board

The School Board is elected by OOB voters. Agendas, packets, and approved minutes are posted on rsu23.org. Public comment is taken at every regular meeting.

Budget Information

The annual school budget is approved through a district referendum after a public hearing. The full proposed and adopted budget documents and the annual independent audit are posted on the district site each year.

ESSER Applications and Awards

Federal pandemic recovery funding (ESSER I, II, and III) is documented on the district site, including the original applications and the periodic spending reports through the close-out window.
