Pine Point Beach
The northernmost stretch of the seven-mile beach. Technically Scarborough but functionally part of OOB's coastline.
Updated May 2026
Where it sits
The Scarborough side of the seven-mile beach. The northern terminus, where the sand meets the Scarborough River channel.
Character
Quieter than downtown OOB. More residential, with a small boardwalk and a handful of shops. The Pine Point Fishermen's Co-op gives the area a working-harbor feel.
Access
Off Pine Point Road. Public parking lots in summer (paid). The Pine Point Co-op restaurant is right at the access point.
Best for
Families, kayaking through the Scarborough River channel, and a quieter beach day than the OOB Pier district.
Surf
Typically smaller waves than Surfside. Sheltered by the river mouth.
Distance from OOB downtown
10 minutes by car heading north. About 2 miles up the seven-mile beach on foot at low tide.
Pine Point Fishermen's Co-op
Working lobster boats unload at the Co-op dock. Retail counter sells fresh lobster and seafood. The adjacent restaurant is a year-round local favorite.
